Knee surgery infection fight: which antibiotic route wins?

Summary

This study tests three methods of giving the antibiotic vancomycin during total knee replacement: injection into the joint, into the bone, or through a vein. The goal is to see which method best reaches the tissues to prevent serious infections. About 30 adults having knee surgery at UC San Diego Health will participate.
