New injection approach offers hope for chronic knee pain sufferers

NCT ID NCT07347028

Summary

This study is testing whether injecting a steroid medication into tight muscle knots (trigger points) around the knee works as well as injecting it directly into the knee joint for relieving osteoarthritis pain. Researchers will enroll over 1,000 adults with chronic knee pain and follow them for two years to compare pain levels, function, and side effects. The goal is to find a simpler, safer treatment option for people who haven't gotten enough relief from standard pain medications.
