Spinal implant offers new hope for untreatable knee pain

NCT ID NCT05103527

Summary

This study is testing if a small implanted device that gently stimulates spinal nerves can reduce chronic pain from knee arthritis. It will involve 30 adults with long-term knee pain who haven't gotten enough relief from other treatments like physical therapy or injections. Participants will first try the stimulation for one week; if it cuts their pain in half, they can get a permanent implant and be followed for a year to see if the pain relief and improved function last.
