First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This study looked at 45 post-menopausal women with knee osteoarthritis who needed knee replacement surgery. Researchers compared fat from inside the bone (bone marrow fat) with fat from under the skin (belly fat) to see which one releases more harmful substances that damage joints. The goal is to find new ways to treat osteoarthritis by understanding how different fat types affect the disease.
