New scan aims to personalize knee replacements

NCT ID NCT02467699

Summary

This study tested a new, non-invasive scanning system to measure how the knee moves in patients with severe arthritis. Researchers wanted to see if taking these measurements before knee replacement surgery could help surgeons better plan the operation. The goal was to see if personalized surgical planning based on a patient's unique knee motion could lead to better outcomes after surgery.
