Scientists map knee motion to build better implants
NCT ID NCT02467699
Summary
This study tested a new, non-invasive system to measure how the knee moves in patients with severe osteoarthritis. Researchers enrolled 40 adults scheduled for knee replacement surgery to see if measuring natural knee motion before the operation could help surgeons choose or position implants better. The goal was to gather information that might explain why some patients are disappointed with their surgery results and potentially improve future outcomes.
