Pinhole procedure aims to zap knee arthritis pain

NCT ID NCT04682652

Summary

This study is testing whether a minimally invasive procedure can reduce knee pain from osteoarthritis. The procedure, called genicular artery embolization (GAE), uses tiny particles to block abnormal blood flow thought to cause inflammation and pain in the knee. Researchers will compare pain relief in 100 participants who either receive the GAE procedure or are observed without it for six months.
