New injection aims to tame arthritis after common knee surgery

NCT ID NCT04641351

Summary

This study is testing if a single steroid injection given during a common knee surgery can reduce joint inflammation and slow the progression of arthritis. It will involve 150 patients aged 40 and older who are having surgery for a torn meniscus. Researchers will measure pain levels, joint fluid, and MRI scans over a year to see if the injection helps control arthritis better than standard care.
