Tape and posture: a new fix for student headaches?
NCT ID NCT07411820
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested whether adding Kinesio Taping (a special elastic tape) to posture correction exercises helps university students with tension-type headaches. Fifty-two students aged 18-25 were split into two groups: one did posture exercises alone, the other added Kinesio Taping to the neck and shoulders. Researchers measured headache intensity, frequency, and impact on daily life over four weeks.

Active substance
Kinesio Taping
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a simple, drug-free way to reduce headache pain and frequency for students with tension-type headaches.
What could go wrong
This is a small, completed study with only 52 participants. Results may not apply to everyone, and the benefit over posture exercises alone may be small.
