First seen Mar 12, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This study tested whether applying kinesio tape (a stretchy, elastic tape) to the lower back during labor can reduce back pain, improve a mother's confidence in giving birth, and increase comfort after delivery. 75 women in active labor with low back pain took part. Researchers measured pain levels at different stages of labor and after birth, and also checked newborn health. The goal was to see if this simple, drug-free method could make childbirth less painful and more comfortable.
