Scientists trace hidden immune reaction to gluten crumbs in kids

NCT ID NCT07362654

Summary

This study aims to understand how the immune systems of children with celiac disease react to very small, controlled amounts of gluten. About 45 children, who are already on a strict gluten-free diet, will take either a placebo or one of two small gluten doses for three days. Researchers will analyze blood, stool, and urine samples to see if even tiny gluten exposures cause measurable immune changes, which could help develop better future tests and management strategies.
