Critical care breakthrough? testing safer kidney support for patients on life support

NCT ID NCT06038162

Summary

This study aims to find the best way to connect kidney dialysis to a life support machine called ECMO, which helps patients with severe heart failure. Researchers will compare connecting the dialysis machine directly into the ECMO circuit versus using a separate connection. The goal is to see which method keeps the dialysis filter working longer and causes fewer complications like infections or bleeding.
