First seen Feb 23, 2026 · Last updated Apr 21, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study aimed to find out if measuring the level of a common, harmless virus in the blood could help doctors monitor kidney transplant patients. Researchers followed 268 transplant recipients to see if the virus level was linked to organ rejection or infections. The goal was to find a simple blood test to better manage immune-suppressing medications and keep the new kidney healthy.
