This trial compares two surgical techniques—percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) and retrograde intrarenal surgery (RIRS)—for removing kidney stones up to 3 cm in people who have only one functioning kidney. The goal is to see which approach clears more stones with fewer complications and better preserves kidney function. Adults with a solitary kidney and stones of 3 cm or smaller are eligible to participate.
