Breakthrough drug trial aims to save kidneys in type 1 diabetes

Summary
This study is testing whether a pill called sotagliflozin can slow down kidney damage in 150 people who have both type 1 diabetes and moderate to severe kidney disease. Participants will take either the real pill or a placebo (inactive pill) daily for three years, while following a special safety plan designed to prevent a serious diabetes complication. The goal is to see if this drug can delay or prevent kidney failure in this high-risk group.
