Breakthrough device aims to shield kidneys during risky heart operations

Summary
This study is testing a new medical device designed to protect kidney function in patients with existing kidney problems who need heart surgery. The device, called JuxtaFlow, works by gently supporting the kidneys' natural filtering process during the stressful period of surgery. Researchers will compare outcomes for 124 patients who receive the device during surgery against those who do not, looking at kidney health, recovery time, and safety.
