Simple blood test may forecast kidney outcomes in sepsis
NCT ID NCT07295392
First seen Jan 08, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a protein in the blood called uromodulin can help predict how well the kidneys will recover in adults with sepsis-related acute kidney injury. Researchers will measure uromodulin levels at the start of ICU care, after one week, and at discharge. They aim to see if these levels can forecast complete kidney recovery, length of ICU stay, and survival at 30 days. The study involves 30 participants and is observational, not a treatment.
