Diabetes drug tested as potential kidney protector

NCT ID NCT07302464

Summary

This study aimed to see if a type of diabetes medication (SGLT2 inhibitors) could help protect kidney function in people with chronic kidney disease, whether they had diabetes or not. Researchers compared changes in a key measure of kidney health (eGFR) in 60 adult participants with moderate to advanced kidney disease. The goal was to understand if this drug's benefits extend beyond blood sugar control to directly help the kidneys.
