Heart of the matter: can a pill fix blood vessels in kidney disease?

NCT ID NCT04930549

Summary

This study tested whether a 12-week course of the drug dapagliflozin, which is usually for diabetes, could improve blood vessel health in people with chronic kidney disease who do not have diabetes. It involved 32 patients who were randomly assigned to receive either the drug or a placebo pill. The main goal was to see if the drug made blood vessels more flexible and responsive, which could help protect the heart and kidneys.
