Gentler dialysis method tested to save Patients' own kidney function
NCT ID NCT07338435
Summary
This study is comparing two ways of doing peritoneal dialysis to see which one is better at protecting a patient's remaining natural kidney function and reducing harmful stress on the body. It involves 100 new dialysis patients in Mexico who will be randomly assigned to receive either a standard, full-dose dialysis schedule or a gentler, 'incremental' schedule that uses a lower dose. Researchers will measure kidney function, body stress markers, and infection rates over one year to see which approach works best.
