Cold sore virus engineered to fight advanced kidney cancer in new trial
NCT ID NCT07218692
Summary
This study is testing a two-part treatment for advanced kidney cancer that has spread and continued to grow after standard immunotherapy. The treatment combines a modified cold sore virus (RP2), injected directly into tumors to kill cancer cells and alert the immune system, with a daily pill (tivozanib) that aims to cut off the tumor's blood supply. The goal is to see if this combination is safe and can help control the cancer in patients who have few other options.
