New cream could soothe painful sex for millions of women

Summary
This study tests a cream called ketotifen fumarate for women with secondary vestibulodynia, a condition causing burning or sharp pain during intercourse or tampon use. About 54 women will apply the cream or a placebo twice daily for 12 weeks to see if it reduces pain. The goal is to offer a non-surgical option for this chronic vulvar pain.
