Common pain drug tested to fight cancer wasting

NCT ID NCT05336266

Summary

This early study is testing whether ketorolac, a common anti-inflammatory pain medication, can help stabilize or increase weight in people with advanced pancreatic cancer who are experiencing significant weight loss (cachexia). Researchers will give 28 participants ketorolac for 5 days and closely monitor their weight, body composition, activity levels, and quality of life to see if the treatment is safe and feasible. The main goal is to see if patients can take the medication as prescribed and to gather initial data on whether it helps with weight and symptoms.
