New monitor could help stop deadly diabetes complication

NCT ID NCT07421518

Summary

This study aims to see if using a continuous ketone monitor along with a special education plan can help lower the risk of diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), a serious and dangerous condition, in adults with type 1 diabetes who are also taking SGLT2 inhibitor medications. It will compare this specific plan to general education. The goal is to find a better way to manage the increased DKA risk that comes with using these helpful but potentially risky medications.
