Can a High-Fat diet help fight a deadly brain cancer?
NCT ID NCT03451799
Summary
This early-stage study is testing whether adding a strict, high-fat ketogenic diet to standard radiation and chemotherapy is safe and feasible for adults newly diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive brain cancer. For 16 weeks, participants follow personalized meal plans designed to put their bodies into a state called ketosis while receiving their regular cancer treatment. Researchers are primarily checking for safety and whether patients can stick to the diet, while also tracking survival, tumor progression, and quality of life.
