7-Day keto diet before PET scan may spot hidden lung cancer

Summary

This study is testing whether eating a low-glucose, high-fat (ketogenic) diet for 7 days before a PET scan can make the scan better at finding a specific type of slow-growing lung cancer called lepidic-predominant adenocarcinoma. This cancer often doesn't show up well on standard PET scans. About 30 adults with a suspicious lung nodule will follow the diet and then have a PET scan. The results will be compared to the actual diagnosis from a biopsy to see if the diet improves accuracy.
