Summary
This pilot study will test whether a high-fat, low-carbohydrate (ketogenic) diet can reduce symptoms of bipolar disorder and improve metabolic side effects when added to standard treatment. The study will enroll 100 adults with bipolar disorder in rural Alabama. Participants will follow the diet while researchers track changes in manic symptoms using a standard rating scale.
