Can a High-Fat diet help cancer patients handle radiation better?

NCT ID NCT05938322

Summary

This study is testing whether a special high-fat, low-carbohydrate diet (ketogenic diet) helps rectal cancer patients better tolerate their radiation and chemotherapy treatment. Researchers will compare patients on this special diet to patients following standard nutrition guidelines. The main goal is to see if patients can stick to the ketogenic diet and if it helps them maintain muscle strength and reduce treatment side effects.
