First seen May 28, 2026 · Last updated Jun 15, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study aims to see if a single injection of ketamine can quickly reduce suicidal thoughts in people with depression who come to the emergency room. Participants will receive either ketamine or a sedative called midazolam, and their suicidal thoughts will be measured before and after treatment. The goal is to find a fast, easy-to-use treatment that busy ER doctors can give to help prevent suicide.
