First seen Feb 04, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study tested whether adding ketamine or magnesium sulfate to a standard numbing injection (nerve block) could better control pain after breast cancer surgery. Sixty adults undergoing mastectomy received one of the two add-ons, and researchers measured how much extra morphine they needed in the first two days. The goal was to find a safer, more effective way to manage post-surgery pain.
