New hope for dual struggle: ketamine therapy tested for alcohol and depression

NCT ID NCT07247370

Summary

This small, early-stage study is testing whether combining the medication ketamine with talk therapy is safe and helpful for people dealing with both alcohol use disorder and major depression. Twenty participants will receive ketamine doses alongside cognitive-behavioral therapy over six weeks. The main goals are to see if the approach is practical to deliver and to look for early signs it might reduce drinking and ease depression.
