Ketamine pills tested to speed up depression relief

NCT ID NCT07396272

Summary

This small, early-stage study is testing whether adding a new, slow-release ketamine tablet to a standard antidepressant can help reduce symptoms of major depression more quickly. Twelve adults with moderate to severe depression will take the ketamine tablets for one week while starting a new antidepressant. Researchers will measure changes in depression, anxiety, sleep, and activity levels, and check blood for markers of inflammation.
