Ketamine tested as Fast-Acting hope for teens with severe depression

NCT ID NCT05045378

Summary

This study tested whether a low-dose ketamine infusion could quickly reduce depression symptoms in teenagers whose depression hasn't improved with standard antidepressants. Researchers compared the ketamine infusion to a placebo (saltwater) infusion in a small group of adolescents. The goal was to see if ketamine is a safe and effective add-on treatment for this hard-to-treat condition.
