Scientists scan brains to unlock Ketamine's Fast-Acting depression secret

NCT ID NCT06788249

Summary

This study aims to understand how ketamine works to rapidly improve depression symptoms. Researchers will use a special brain imaging technique to measure chemical changes in the brains of 10 adults with treatment-resistant depression before and after they receive a single ketamine infusion. The goal is to identify the brain mechanisms involved, which could help guide the development of future depression treatments.
