Rural cancer survivors may get better Follow-Up care in new study
NCT ID NCT07528963
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests new ways to help rural primary care clinics provide better follow-up care for cancer survivors. Researchers will give clinics telementoring, quality improvement coaching, and an obesity management toolkit. The goal is to see if these tools help clinics follow national guidelines for cancer survivorship care, such as screening for distress and monitoring for cancer recurrence.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
telementoring, practice facilitation, and obesity management toolkit
What this could lead to
If successful, this could show practical ways for rural primary care clinics to better follow cancer survivorship guidelines, potentially improving long-term health for cancer survivors.
What could go wrong
This is a very small pilot study (16 clinics) testing implementation strategies, not a treatment. Results may not apply to other regions or larger populations, and the impact on patient health outcomes is not directly measured.
