Weekly shot aims to stop Kids' arthritis from spreading
NCT ID NCT03841357
Summary
This study tested whether a weekly injection of the medication abatacept could prevent early juvenile arthritis from becoming more severe. It involved 121 children aged 2-16.5 years who had arthritis in four or fewer joints for less than six months. Researchers compared children receiving the injections plus standard care to those receiving standard care alone to see if the treatment prevented the disease from spreading to more joints or causing eye inflammation.
