First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests a wearable device called Japet.W+ that supports the lower back during physiotherapy. Sixty adults with non-specific mechanical low back pain lasting more than 6 weeks will be split into two groups: one doing physiotherapy with the device, the other without. Researchers will measure pain, medication use, mobility, fear of movement, quality of life, and anxiety to see if the device helps more than standard care.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
Japet.W+ exoskeleton device
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a new, non-drug way to reduce pain and improve mobility for people with chronic low back pain.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial with only 60 participants. The device may not provide significant benefit over standard physiotherapy, and there is a risk of device-related side effects.
