Summary

Researchers are testing a combination of two experimental drugs, JANX013 and JANX007, in men with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer, an advanced form that keeps growing despite hormone-lowering treatment. The Phase 1 trial gives both drugs by intravenous infusion to about 110 participants. The main goals are to check safety, find a tolerable dose, and see how the body processes the drugs. The study also looks for early signs of activity, such as changes in prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
Two experimental drugs, JANX013 and JANX007, given together by intravenous infusion
What this could lead to
If the combination proves safe and shows signs of activity, it could point toward a new treatment option for prostate cancer that has spread and stopped responding to hormone therapy.
What could go wrong
This is a first-in-human Phase 1 trial, so the main goal is to check safety and dosing, not to prove the drugs work. The combination may cause serious immune reactions or other side effects, and early signals of benefit often do not hold up in larger studies.
