Scientists probe if arthritis drugs can calm the immune system

NCT ID NCT03755297

Summary

This study aimed to understand how a class of existing rheumatoid arthritis drugs, called JAK-STAT inhibitors, might increase helpful, anti-inflammatory immune cells (B cells). Researchers planned lab experiments using cells from patients with rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. The study was terminated early and did not test a new treatment, but sought to learn more about how current drugs work.
