Summary

This study tested whether a medicine called Intravenous Immunoglobulin (IVIG) is safe and works for treating sudden, severe pain episodes in people with sickle cell disease. About 300 people took part. The goal was to see if IVIG could shorten the pain crisis and reduce the need for strong painkillers.
