New sedative combo aims to prevent dangerous oxygen drops during IVF

NCT ID NCT07335536

Summary

This study is testing whether a sedative called remimazolam, when used with a painkiller, is safer than the current standard sedative during IVF egg retrieval. It aims to reduce episodes of low oxygen levels (hypoxia), which is a common risk during this procedure. Researchers will compare the two sedative combinations in 400 women undergoing IVF to see which one better maintains safe oxygen levels.
