Pregnant and anemic? study tests if an IV iron shot beats pills

NCT ID NCT04278651

Summary

This study is testing whether getting iron through an IV is better than taking iron pills for pregnant women with low iron. Researchers want to see which method improves blood counts more effectively, causes fewer side effects, and leads to a better quality of life. About 80 women in their second trimester will be randomly assigned to receive either IV iron or oral iron pills.
