Iron infusion vs. pills: a new hope for healing hearts?

NCT ID NCT05309499

Summary

This study tested whether giving iron directly into a vein (IV) works better than iron pills to improve heart muscle function in people recovering from a heart attack who also have low iron. About 300 patients were randomly assigned to receive either the IV iron or the pills during their hospital stay and were followed for one year. The main goal was to see which treatment better helped the weakened area of the heart pump more strongly.
