Iron infusion before obesity surgery may stop anemia

Summary

This study tests whether giving an intravenous iron supplement before weight-loss (bariatric) surgery can prevent anemia and improve quality of life in obese patients who are iron deficient. About 200 participants will receive either the iron infusion or a placebo. The main goal is to see if hemoglobin levels improve after surgery.
