Simple IV fluid boost before surgery could prevent dangerous blood pressure drops

NCT ID NCT05079269

Summary

This study is testing if giving a bag of IV fluids before surgery helps prevent a dangerous drop in blood pressure that can happen right after anesthesia starts. Researchers are comparing patients who get the extra fluids to those who receive the standard minimal amount. The goal is to see if this simple step leads to fewer patients needing blood pressure support medications during this critical time.
