First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study looked at whether the way a catheter is pushed off the needle during IV insertion changes how much the needle tip moves. 80 healthcare workers with IV experience tested three techniques: one-handed, two-handed, and two-person. The goal was to find which method causes the least needle movement to improve safety and training.
