Brain hormone injection could rewire PTSD trauma responses

Summary
This study is testing whether a single intravenous dose of a natural brain hormone called allopregnanolone can help people with PTSD. Researchers want to see if this medication helps the brain better process traumatic memories during a standardized laboratory procedure that measures fear responses. About 96 adults with chronic PTSD will participate to see if the treatment improves how the brain manages fear and stress.
