Mayo clinic tests antifungal drug for lung mold problem

NCT ID NCT07283497

Summary

This Mayo Clinic study is testing whether itraconazole, an antifungal medication, is a practical and safe treatment option for adults with bronchiectasis who also have mold growing in their airways. The small pilot trial with 30 participants will check if patients can stick with the 6-week treatment and monitor for side effects, while also exploring whether the drug helps respiratory symptoms and changes the mix of microbes in the lungs.
