Experimental cell transplant aims to free patients from insulin shots

NCT ID NCT01909245

Summary

This study is testing whether transplanting insulin-producing cells from donors into people with Type 1 diabetes is a safe and effective treatment. The procedure aims to help patients achieve better blood sugar control and potentially become independent from daily insulin injections. Participants will receive special anti-rejection medications and be followed for five years to see how well the transplanted cells work.
