New islet transplant could free some from insulin shots

Summary

This study tests if transplanting insulin-making cells from donors can help people with type 1 diabetes control blood sugar better and possibly stop insulin shots. Participants get anti-rejection drugs to protect the new cells. Up to 10 people will be followed for 5 years to see if the treatment is safe and effective.
